Inthe new year

1 Thessalonians 1:9, 10
"For they themselves declare concerning us what manner of entry we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come."

FOCUS:
TURN TO GOD FROM IDOLS
Whatever your heart indulges in on a regular, consistent basis can become an idol.
Work, sports, entertainment, relationships, and money can rob us of an intimate relationship with the Lord God. Turn to God right away, confessing the sin of idolatry and forsake it.

SERVE THE LIVING AND TRUE GOD
God has placed a calling upon your life. He has a specific purpose for you to fulfill on this earth for His honor and glory. You were saved to serve. Ask God to show you the spiritual gift/s He has given you. This will be the thing you are to spend your time, energy, and life doing. This area of service will satisfy and gratify you above all else. You will see that you were born for that purpose.

WAIT FOR HIS SON FROM HEAVEN
As you occupy yourself with God's interests while living a life of obedience, you'll find yourself becoming more aware of His eminent return. You will be watchful, redeeming the time. You will pay more attention to how you're living out your Christian life.

Many didn't make it into the New Year for various reasons. You've been allowed by His Grace to see a New Year. Make a fresh beginning by evaluating your relationship with God. Don't get hung up on your past failures. Turn to God and have that heart to heart talk with Him.

Make a conscious decision to sit in His presence daily along with having a consistent prayer life.
Be intentional. Be obedient, and you will experience joy and abundant living.
